Conditions were marginal in the morning hours. I guess I expected more
participation and didn't hear a lot of the regulars.

They should move this contest(and 10GHz Up) out of the hottest summer months
to May or October. 
I have no clue why the ARRL schedules contests for the hardest bands to get
on at the worst time
of the year. It's just too hot for any propagation to happen.
There's a big stretch of dead time from the January to June Contests, and
from the Sept. to Jan.
Contests. Why not put them there?

Maybe that's half of the decline of the UHF contest. Too hot for
propagation(and going portable) which makes it seem like low turnout. So
then people quit trying...
