I have my DEMI 2304 and 3456 transverters with sma relays (nice). ...Seems a simple matter to hook them up but WITHOUT the LNA preamps that I also have...I would just mount the transverters on back of the antenna frame....just a matter of protecting them from the rain and running an I-F cable, ptt line, and 12 volts.
I have LMR 400 for the I-F cable, I assume that 75 feet of it would still leave sufficient IF gain at 144mhz, without the preamps.
More complex would be to get some type of box to put both transverters in with room for the LNA preamps and even future amps for these bands, need connectors and coax jumpers....how to vent or cool such a box?
If I keep it simple then I should be QRV for the contest in two weeks, 1 watt with the larger directive systems loop antennas.
...do and don't and what to watch out for, appreciated (slowed down needlessly by a diode in getting 902/3 up and running).
