Thanks to all who turned out for the Sept. VHF Contest. Final score was
19656 points.
Murphy got me a little. 1296 amp went into thermal runaway during the
last hours and was blazing HOT.
(hope it didn't break!)
Operator error got me a few times. The big project for this winter is to
finally automate the microwave setup from
902-Up. I'm wasting too much time behind the rack swapping cables to
change bands.
Thunderstorms had me jumpin' to pull plugs and had to watch the radar
constantly on the internet
to lookout for approaching lightning. I lost about 5 hours operating
time right at the beginning of the contest.
I was glad to see a little 6m opening out west to break up the otherwise
dull contest. Conditions
were very poor on the higher bands and reminded me of a January contest.
