Hi All,
I'm hosting the November meeting in EL88ur, Floral City, FL. The QTH is on
Route 41, South of Inverness and North of Brooksville. It is opposite Floral
Park, a Citrus county park. Google Earth will show you the roof of the house
and a couple of antennas on a barn roof. From Orlando, the Fl. tpke to I75
terminus near the Rt. 44 exit and then South on R. 41 is a good way to come
over. Route 50 also works to Brooksville and then head North on Rt. 41. From
the South, I75 to 44 or 489 to 50 is good.
The address is 9605 South Clearsprings Drive, Floral City. The landmark is
Floral Park, which is across Rt. 41.
The agenda: Please help me out here.
Would you:
1. like to make a 1296 looper using aluminum flashing cut in strips and
pop-riveted to aluminum tubing with a back plate to attach to a mast. You
will provide an SMA UT141 jumper at least four inches long. An eight inch
jumper is good for two. I supply the rest.
2. like to make and tune pipe cap filters for 10368 mHz, plus or minus your
IF, 5760 mHz plus or minus your IF. You bring the pipe-caps, screws, nuts
and SMA jumpers, I provide the double sided board.
3. make directional couplers out of UT141 or other semi-rigid line as per
RSGB plans. Bring the line.
4. look at the output of your 10 GHz or less equipment on an old spec.
analyzer.
5. measure approx. SWR using directional couplers and power meters of
dubious calibration. (set up a dish feed tuner)
6. Braze something to something else using my torch.
7. Enjoy a Swedish smorgasbord in an oak forest on one of the ten best days
in 2007.
I have lots of tools and stuff so let me know your desires. The door prize
is a 19" dish and mount to anyone who wants one, up to five available.
John the elder K2STO
