Bill,
There is a lot of activity in your area and on the left coast. With 500W
on 2m
you should be able to pretty much work anyone in the state if your antenna
is clear.
A mast mounted pre-amp will double the number of stations you can hear.

Subject: [FLWSS] South Florida VHF activity?
It was nice to find this reflector and discover that
there is some VHF/UHF/microwave activity here in the
Sunshine State. I had been active on VHF/UHF since
1966 but have only recently gotten back on from my new
QTH here in Plantation, near Ft. Lauderdale.
>From looking through the reflector archive, it appears
that most of you are in central and north Florida. Is
there any activity at all here in the south?
Anyhow, look for me on 6 and 2 meters. I have 500w
and 11 el. beam and 2 and should have 800w and 3 el.
on 6 by the contest next weekend. Also have 90w on
70cm but no antenna yet.

Bill NZ5N EL96uc
