Subject: [23cm] El Paso 1296 beacon.

Friday afternoon AE5RJ, KD9KC, N5NHC and N5QJK took a little hike up the
mountain. As of 19 Oct 2007, the El Paso 1296 beacon is again operational.
Better than ever before in fact. We have already received one report of Q-5
S-0 from near Alamogordo NM, 75.17 miles at 22.5 º.

If you have the ability to listen, please send me a report if you can hear
it, or not, and how well it compares to the 444.200 repeater at the same
site too.

Thanks.

The beacon data is:

Location: 31º 47' 23.1" -106º28'50.8" 4812 ft ASL.

Frequency: 1296.262 MHz. (look up or down a bit).

Mode: CW ID: AE5RJ

Power: 10 watts out of the cavity.

Coax: 3 dB loss in coax and connectors.

Antenna: Omni Vertical - Folded dipole, 0 dBd, 2.1 dBi. ~ 15 ft on tower.

ERP: 5 watts ERP.
