But really why do we need a contest to operate?  The MAMS 
(Mid America Microwave Society) group is doing a good job 
keeping alive Bill Seabreeze's (W3IY sk)  MAD (Microwave 
Activity Day) alive.

 I totally agree with this one. The only thing is that contests tend to
bring
more people out of the woodwork than other times of the year.

And yes, four contest sessions would be even better. I have no problem with
that
suggestion either.
