Since I very seldom make any contacts during V/UHF contests
to my south and often miss the more local stations I am
going to try the clock hand pointing method. This most
likely won't net me the most contacts but I had rather log
stations I seldom hear than the same ones during each event.
So for the Florida ops I'll be looking your way at 30 min
past each hour. I'll initially tune around the calling freq
and then if nothing heard I'll make some noise on 222.122
mHz. I'll be looking west around 45 min past the hour and
on the the north at the top of the hour.

Also, just for an experiment, I'll be monitoring 60 meters,
channel 2 when the freq is clear. Doing this has helped
with microwave liaison a few times in the past when 2 meters
was out of range.
