George!
I hope you can get everyone on board with this. If you look at the it $ wise, if we spend $200 each on an super accurate all band source to make our K$'s worth of equipment predictable , more reliable and useful, plus get an education out of making it, What a deal! I hope everyone here in the meeting area says yes to this.

Thanks guys. This one may take hold. I've gotten input from 5 people so far
and we already have a few design criteria's forming.
1) Operate from 12v and as low of current drain as possible.
2) Research best Ref. Osc. possible verse quantity and price.
3) Ref. with retrofit upgrades.
3) Some form of signal level control.
Steve mentioned that we could get together at a meeting and compare sources
for frequency calibration with each other. Also, anyone in hearing distance
of the 10 GHz beacon could just zero beat with it and have a great marker
for the lower bands.
I'll collect all the inputs and report progress. Express here, and collect
your thoughts, and related articles to bring to the next meeting, if this
project is still alive by then.
If the interest can get to 10 or more, I'll ping a few vendors for
oscillator pricing. Also, give me a feel for what price you are willing to
pay for the REF OSC. I'm expecting $25-30 each for quantity of 10 with
<5ppm. Call me crazy.
