[FLWSS] Locations

Gents,

Joe and I were trying to unravel longitude and latitude formats. He and I
have been using hddd* mm' ss.s" and we have them programmed into our GPS
units that way. When we talked to Jim (nn4aa) about his rover location he
used Degrees only (hddd* dddd.d).

This raises questions that we need to resolve today. It is easy to exchange
location information and misunderstand which format is being used. So, what
is commonly used or what is the standard? Most hand-held GPS units have
several formats to select from, but we all need to be using the same one.

We are looking for strong objections to using the format we are using. Note
that it is also the "Google Earth" default. This helpful tool will also
accept log/lat format data in the "Fly To" box for getting quick visuals.

George K4 RSV Please
