I was wondering when someone would ask this question again first which system are you in ?
you should be in nad83 and it should be in hours minutes seconds not decimal to convert correctly big difference find out which your program takes to convert to maidenhead correctly .. i brought this up 3-4 years ago about rover positions if they were sure they were in the grid they thought they were and was told to go away pretty much :)

all handheld gps are within 100metres no way around this it's a fact... unless you have a $6,000 waas, rtcm corrected handheld gps tracking 5 sats or more on L1 L2 you aren't where you think you are so you will have to read your gps manual and then set the parameters correctly, visit a well known geographic feature to check precision on a quad map such as water tower or airport control tower or best yet a ngs geodetic control point listed under NOAA/ngs and see how far you are off 73 ke4wbo > From: kf4yox at embarqmail.com> To: k4rsv at bellsouth.net; flwss at flwss.net> Date: Fri, 18 Jan 2008 17:42:44 -0500> Subject: Re: [FLWSS] Locations> > I believe it is "madinhead"> 73 Sam kf4yox> ----- Original Message ----- > From: "George Presley" <k4rsv at bellsouth.net>> To: "FLWSS Bulletin Board" <flwss at flwss.net>> Sent: Friday, January 18, 2008 2:22 PM> Subject: [FLWSS] Locations> > > > Gents,> >> > Joe and I were trying to unravel longitude and latitude formats.
