George,
My first Amp on 222 was a 2C39 (3CX100/7289) amp. It was good for 125 watts then and I guess you could water cool it , but I don't think it would be worth the effort anymore unless you have every thing in the junk box you need. I used a --------------- Can't remember the model number but it was a 450 Mhz transceiver PA section that was very popular for hams to use in the late 60's early 70's I just guted it and there was enough room for a 220 at that time , tank circuit. The input was done by trial and error cold matching. This cavity was also used as on of the first TX converter circuits (in an old ARRL Hand book around the same time). BUT--- Unless you have the stuff , get a AM6154/ or 55 and put your time and effort into that for a better amp.
