[FLWSS] Interesting data

Hi All,
I've been fighting a terrible cold the last several days, so I haven't
felt like doing much. But, I did go through my logs for the last 10 years and
plot the occurrence of band openings. I have been operating in Florida more or
less seriously for that period.
I only plotted 2 M and up openings that I worked.
There were openings every month but Sept. May showed far and away the
greatest number of openings with April and June next, as one might expect from any
distribution chart. A minor peak was noted in Nov. and Dec. That minor peak
was a surprise to me.
This is far from a scientific presentation of data because there were
openings that I missed and some openings that I didn't work because I am a stuffy
old fart and just didn't feel like working the SOB on the other end. However,
the data tells me that it's time to get stuff on the air and don't do any
major work until much later in the year.
I also plotted Es openings on 2. They occurred in June and July in 2001,
03, 04 (this was one of biblical proportions), 06 and 07. This somewhat follows
the decrease in solar activity. I have been told by more knowledgeable
observers that there is an inverse correlation between Es and solar activity.
   For what it's worth.
