[FLWSS] FLWSS Meeting

Hey Everyone!

First off, good to see every one at the meeting. Happy to see our "G" Men friends there for a visit (safe trip home Sam and Russ!) andto get the tour at KI4NPV's home, work place, and station. ThanksJoe! Nice Job!

OK! So we had an update of our frequency reference project, a blurb fromme, and Chuck gave us a wonderful piece of data that was stating that the monthof May is the best opportunity to catch VHF/UHF/ and uWave DX. So! What were we doing??!! We were having a $3 pizza lunch while theMicrowave Sprint was in process. A missed opportunity to see what was goingon! We didn't even turn Joes stuff on and listen. No one mentionedit! I was dissapointed. 

Guys, its like this. We need to start thinking outside of the box. The boxbeing the central part of Florida. We need to think about the dates ofour meetings. I'm not convinced that having the next meeting during the10 Ghz cume contest is the best Idea. Everyone will bring their 10 Ghz stuff tothe meeting that most haven't made a "worthy" contact with andthen work every one in the back yard just like at last years meeting. I'msorry , but that’s not Ham radio to me. 
 I don't want to upset anyone’s basket of Oranges, but what ifwe go out and about making contacts on that weekend ???? Then, wecan get together the next weekend or so to fix our problems, discuss ourcontacts and Logs, and decide who is going where the next cume weekend. We cantalk about how to improve our efficiency and operating skills and use ofan liaison frequency? Maybe the guys that have 10 Ghz gear take some onethat doesn't have the gear so they can find out what its all about. The guys that have the home stations invite some one over that doesn'thave the gear so they can see what its like. Get all of the equipment scatteredaround instead of in one spot in central FL saying, “yea, that’s the beacon!” 

We need to expand the walls of the box we are in. So, for thatweekend, I'm gona be out and about. I don’t know where yet, but it willbe here in FL somewhere. Who wants to play!
